He said there are already sites acquired in the different parts of Mindanao but Davao is first in the line for development.
He said the Davao site will occupy the property adjacent to SM City Davao mall which will break ground this July. There is also another site for real estate project in the north side of Davao City adjacent to SM Lanang Premier.
Mall assistant manager Nick Santos revealed that four medium rise buildings (MRBs) of eight floors each will be built in the area.
He said since it will occupy the open parking lot of the mall, a car park building will also be part of the construction development.
Santos said the ground floor and the other lower floors of the car park building are rentable spaces to include areas for food and cafes as these stores will cater to call center agents and other workers of the BPOs housed in the Annex area that operates 24 hours.
Lynette Lopez, mall manager of SM Davao, said there are more BPO companies that are scouting spaces in addition to two BPO locators namely Teleperformance and VXI.
“We really need spaces also for BPOs and the new development within our area are possible sites for new locators,” she said.
Lopez said their mall, being the pioneering SM store in Mindanao, remains strong in performance as it showed uptrend growth. Earlier report showed a nine percent growth in revenue in 2015 which was higher than the national growth of only seven percent.
